Turtle


This turtle was a gift to my aunt.  He isn't that difficult, but it gets a little tricky when you sew him together.

So, here he is-


Materials:
G hook
Camo yarn
Light green
Tan yarn
8mm black eyes
Stuffing

Head (use light green yarn)

1. ch 5 in ring-5
2. sc in each st around-5
3. 2sc in each st around-10 
4. sc in each st around-10
5. (sc in next st, 2sc in next st) around-15
6-7. sc in each st around-15
8. sc around to last 5st, sk next st, sc in last 4st-14
9. sc in first 3st, sk next st, sc in next 6st, 2sc in next st, sc in last 3st-14
10. sc in first st, sk next st, sc in next 2st, sk next st, sc in next 3st, 2sc in next st, sk next st, 2sc in next st, sc in last 3st-13
11. sc in first st, dc in next st, sk next st, dc in next st, sc around-12
12. dc in next 2st, sk next st, dc in next 2st, sc around-11
13. (sk first st, sc in next st) around to last st, slst last st-6 F/O

Top of Shell (use camo yarn)

1. ch 5 in ring-5
2. 2sc in each st around-10
3. (sc in next st, 2sc in next st) around-15
4. (sc in next 2st, 2sc in next st) around-20
5. (sc in next 3st, 2sc in next st) around-25
6. (sc in next 4st, 2sc in next st) around-30
7. (sc in next 5st, 2sc in next st) around-35
8-13. sc in each sc around-35
14. ch 2, sk 2, sc in next 2st, ch 3, sk 3, sc in next 4st, (ch 3, sk 3, sc in next 3st) twice, ch 3, sk 3, sc in next 4st, ch 3, sk 3, sc in last 2st-35 F/O

Legs (make 4 with light green yarn)

1. ch 5 in ring-5
2. 2sc in each st around-10
3-6. sc in each st around-10
7. (sc in next st, sk next st) around-7 F/O

Tail (use light green yarn)

1. ch 3 in ring
2-4. sc in each sc around F/O

Bottom of Shell

1-7. Do same as top of shell- F/O

Assembly:
Place eyes in head.  (the head should point up when you sew it on)  Stuff all parts.  Sew bottom of shell to top of shell.  Sew tail into little (sk 2) hole in top shell.  Then sew head and legs into the other holes.

  1. D'awww! He's so cute! Turtles are one of my favorite animals. I like how you used to multicolored yard for his shell, though it may be a little too round. :) But his head and limbs look very nice. Keep up the good work!
