Graduation Cap

Congratulations to all the Graduates of 2014!  Here's a little graduation cap I made.

Materials:
F hook
Yarn needle
Black yarn
5 Stings of Embroidery Floss, 3in long each (I used yellow)

Top of Cap (using black yarn)

1. ch 9, turn, sc across-8
2-8. ch1, turn, sc across-8
Now, slst around on each side (slst in and on the side of each st) There should be about 32st-F/O

Bottom of Cap (using black yarn)

1. ch 16 and join, making a ring-16
2-3. sc in each st around-16-F/O

Assembly:
Take one string of Embroidery floss, fold it in half, and knot both pieces of string together at the end.  Then, (using your hook or the yarn needle) pull it through the middle of the Top of Cap(the knot should be big enough so it stops the string from being pulled out)  Take three more strings and pull them (together) half way through the loop that was formed from your last string.  Fold the three strings in half around your last string.  Then, take another string, tie it around the end of the three (now six since folded in half) strings a few times, and cut off both ends.  Sew bottom onto top.

    1. Yeah I think they would be a little too big for earrings...you could easily alter it to be small enough though
